The Chhattisgarh Noni Suraksha Yojana has released recently for the girls of the state. Through this scheme the government wants to give a boost to the safety of the girl children born in poverty stricken households. These girls will therefore receive a lot of benefits under this scheme.

Objective of the scheme –

1. Development of female child – With financial grant, state government will be able to develop the overall status of female children, born in BPL families.
2. Increase in sex ratio – The sex ration in Chhattisgarh is rather low. A scheme like this will encourage poor households to welcome birth of female children. This project also reduces instances of infanticide.
3. Prevent child marriage – The scheme also aims to discourage families from arraigning the marriage of girls, who have not completed the age of 18 years.

Features of the Noni Suraksha Yojana

1. Financial assistance – Each eligible girl will be attaining Rs 2 lakhs from the Chhattisgarh government.
2. Life insurance – Each registered applicant will also receive Rs. 25,000 as a life coverage policy. Rs 5000 will be deposited by the insurance company every year, for five consecutive years.
3. Payment mode – The money will be deposited in the registered bank account of the candidate.
4. Age to attain grant – The state authority will offer the monetary assistance to the female candidates once they complete their 18^th
5. Ensure higher education – Apart from development of female children, this scheme also ensures that each girl gets a shot at higher education. Girls must complete their 12^th standard to get the money.
6. Two girls per family – The scheme states that each eligible family will be able to attain this grant for two female children. If the mother gives birth to twin girls, then more than two girls may get this monetary assistance.
7. For BPL households – The scheme has been developed by the state government to help poor and needy sections of the society. Families, which fall under the BPL category, tend to have negative notions towards female children. The implementation of this scheme will help to change their mindset.

Eligibility Criteria of Chhattisgarh Noni Suraksha Yojana

• Girls born after 2014 – Only those female children, who were born after April 2014, will be allowed to be a part of this developmental scheme.
• Belongs to Chhattisgarh – The parents or the guardians of the child should have permanent residence in Chhattisgarh. This scheme is for the girl children of Chhattisgarh only.
• Two girls per family – This scheme will be given to you only if you are the first girl child in your family taking the benefit or the second one. From the third girl child onwards, this benefit shall not be given. The scheme states that each eligible family will be able to attain this grant for two female children. If the mother gives birth to twin girls, then more than two girls may get this monetary assistance.

• The name of the parents or guardians should be there in the updated survey list of the poverty line made by the Rural Development Department.

Online Application Form and How to apply for the Chhattisgarh Noni Suraksha Yojana

• Step 1: First of all go to the official website of the scheme at Chhattisgarh Noni Suraksha Yojana Online portal. This is the official portal and clicking this link will land you on the main page.
• Step 2: Now on the main page you will have to find the option called “Registration” – situated at the top panel of the website.
• Step 3: When you click on this, a new page will open titled “application form.” this is self explanatory – it is the online application form where you have to enter the details that are asked.
• Step 4: After filling out all the details in the form, you have to go to the bottom of the page and click “submit” – make sure you have checked all the information for its accuracy.
• Step 5: Now you will get a registration number that will be generated along with the registration success message. Save the registration number for future reference and also take a print out of the application form.
• This will complete the enrollment process. After this the enrollment papers will be sent to the respective authority for verification. Once the verification is complete, selected candidates will be notified.
• Once the registered candidates attain 18 years of age, and complete their 12^th standard examination, they will have to open a bank account.
• Once the age proof and academic papers are submitted in the block development office or the Women and Child Development department, officers will scrutinize these documents.
• If everything is in order, the officers will dispatch the grant amount. The money will be deposited in the respective accounts.
